Super exciting times…..video times! We are premiering our video today. Please pretend that your computer screen is a tv and that you are tuned to MuchMusic, and that this is the very early 2000s, when MuchMusic played videos instead of…well, you know. Huge thanks to Alex Cullen at www.iriscape.com for all of the amazingness that you are about to witness. And now, permit Bradford How, my favourite Much VJ (circa the year 2000) to motionlessly and silently introduce our video for Sell Out While You Can: So much muchness! The new album ‘Oh, Hell’ is now streaming for one week (that is until June 4th – our CD release party!) here at http://www.littlefootlongfoot.com/music.html . After that you are going to have to try and either buy it or steal it. We are getting distribution through EMI so hopefully it won’t be too hard to find. Please take a listen and stomp your feets a bit. We got our first review of the album and it’s a great one! Thanks Pink Mafia! We like you too. You can read it here . And here is the poster for the CD release party! This entry is so chipper and full of exclamation points! Look for more entries like this in the coming days because this is just the way that I have to share exciting information! Yay information! I’m tired… Alive! We are safe and mostly sound after our whirlwind tour of the east last week. What have we learned? We have most certainly learned that Tim Horton’s is a great big fat huge flabby liar, that’s what we have learned. We most certainly consumed at least 40 Timmy coffees over the span of 7 days, and guess how many rims were winners? ONE. One frickin’ donut. 1 out of 6 winners my bum, Timmie’s. Lies make baby jesus cry. ANYWAYS… A brief photo essay before getting to the meat of this blog – video blog meat! Here we are at Pickles Deli, performing in front of some meat and cheese, in Sackville, New Brunswick Here is Morris Code and The Signal, also in front of some cheese and meat. Here we are with Kendra Gale and her housemate Randy. It was Kendra’s bday that night. She took her bday shots like an effing champ. Here is our fancy show sign in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. And here is Isaac’s attempt to lure people into our show in Halifax. Hope you enjoyed that. Now, without further idle photo posting….MEATY VIDEO BLOG!! Friends! There is so much going on right now that it’s difficult to find time to actually update about all the goings on. I will revert to good old point forminess: - The record: currently getting mastered. Look for its release in June 2011! Also look for some insanely cool packaging of said record. Oh yes, and since you are reading this, you get rewarded with the album’s title: ‘Oh,Hell’ -CMW! Two shows, friends (sorry, I am assuming you are our friend. Maybe you hate us and you only read this blog to make fun of us and send the link to friends with the subject ‘Get a load of these idiots…’). Friday at 12am at Hard Luck Bar, and Saturday at 9pm at the Painted Lady. - Tour! We leave for our ‘Cold and Scared’ tour on Sunday. Check out myspace or facebook for dates. East Coast: we are coming back to love you…again. Actually, we’re just going cuz it will really give us the opportunity to consume as much Tim Horton’s as possible and FINALLY win some Roll Up the Rims. More updates to come, obviously…well, hopefully. If you don’t hear from us soon, call our families. If there isn’t a video blog about the tour up in a couple of weeks, you will probably find us buried under a pile of foggy snow somewhere in New Brunswick, our cold and frozen hands desperately clutching many winning Roll up the Rim cups. We are recording, friends! It is going well and sounding like ass kicking. Ian Blurton is our producer. We like him. Here is a general idea of the special dynamic between Ian and Isaac in the studio: so June Bug was just featured on Degrassi – i mean REALLY featured. hello, Big D Dance Crew! thanks to Degrassi, there’s basically a choreographed dance to our song now, featuring vuvuzelas and tubas and strange spastic emo dances. if you missed it, you can watch it online here (go to clip 3 if you don’t want to, you know, indulge in all of the teenery): http://www.muchmusic.com/tv/degrassi/episodes/episode1006.aspx also, if you live in the states, you can check out the clip on Teen Nickelodeon’s website: http://www.teennick.com/community/nsider.php?id=9208&tag=degrassi if you hate clicking links, here’s an image from ‘our’ scene. just hum June Bug while looking at it and you sort of get the idea. and if you reaaaaaaaaaaallly love us, you should log in and make adoring comments about the song (you can or can not pretend you are a preteen LOL!!!LMFAO!) . Big D’s for everyone…i mean…erm…hi kids! LOLs for everyone! love, LFLF hey! we went on tour to the east coast! it went like this: it was fun! there was a toga party in fredericton! there was a fundraiser for AIDS in Africa in New Brunswick (the fundraiser was in New Brunswick, not the AIDS or Africa). Isaac pulled the bumper off his car in Halifax! then he taped it back on in Springhill, N.S.! he did a good job, cuz it got us back home. it looked like this!
we played a bunch of shows w/ Morris Code and the Signal. they are awesome. here they are with Isaac!
we saw the Potato Research Centre!
it was a great tour! then we came back and played two shows for NXNE. they were fantastic. we played them w/ our new band member. read about one of the the shows HERE. learn more about the tour and our new band member in this lazy video blog! and come to our show at the Cadillac Lounge this Saturday instead of sitting at home complaining about the G20 (Caddy is in Parkdale. There are no fake lakes in Parkdale). things, people! happenings! it’s been quiet for a couple of months, but we’re back with a vengeance. 1. brand new single! you can download it for FREE thanks to our lovely Steamwhistle friends. go HERE and enjoy the fancy freeness. 2. we play Canadian Music Week on Thursday at the Central. Details/tickets HERE 3. feature interview broadcast LIVE this coming Monday on Indie Love Radio. starts at 8. listen online HERE. 4. joan just got back from Costa Rica and saw a lot of monkeys. here’s a picture of her watching monkeys do dirty things to each other HERE (below)
there. hey blog readers, remember when i used to blog? those were heady times. for real…we were touring. touring is mighty heady. we’ve been busy doing regular person things for the past couple of months, but have not neglected our rock n’ roll duty (it puts the duty in our souls). highlights include: - our song ‘marriage ain’t a promise’ is featured on the Whistler/Blackcomb website on an episode of ‘Snowcast’. go to http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/video/index.htm and click on S3E1WB Snowcast to check out the EXTREMENESS. -sometimes when we’re bored (and egomaniacle) we google ourselves, and sometimes we are pleasantly surprised. somebody truly understands us. *blushes*. - we finally saw MONOTONIX. it was easily the best show either of us have ever seen. here is Isaac being Israeli rock n’ rolly with Bonanza! (seriously, that’s what he is called) the drummer after the show:
and here is Levi “Ha Haziz” (Yomtov) Elvis, the lead singer, rubbing his sweaty gym shorted bum all over me. please note isaac behind me yelling to see if i was alright (?). yes. yes, clearly. i was alright. a truly interactive show if there ever was one.
- Steam Whistle continues to treat us like princesses! we entered Cherry Beach Sound last friday to record our new single, ‘She Looks To You’, all thanks to the guys at Cherry Beach and the bestest beer company in the whole world (really, they don’t require us to say such things, we just really feel them, you know?). Here we are in the studio, ‘working’:
also, couldn’t neglect mentioning Hallowe’en, which was spent with our favourites the Bible All Stars in Ottawa. Isaac dressed up as Morgan – the Bible All Stars’ frontman (fake tattoos and everything), and i was Vince from ShamWow fame…well, SEXY Vince (as i always enjoy taking the Slutowe’en trend of Kitty Kat Prostitutes a little too far).
in conclusion, we wish we were made in Germany, cuz then you would KNOW we were good. |
